Beginning Band

           Members of the beginning band are students that are interested in starting to play a new instrument or to just begin playing a band instrument.  These students will be required to obtain an instrument that they would like to learn in the class.  They can do this by renting or purchasing one at our local music stores or may borrow one from the school if we have one available.  Our supply of instruments is very limited.  They will also be required to purchase a beginning band method book, to us during the class. 

            We will focus on note reading, pitch identification, tone production, proper playing techniques and other musical elements.  Each student will be evaluated on their individual progress throughout the school year.  They will be required to perform recital type playing tests for the class every other week.  The students will also be tested on other musical skills test throughout the year.
